The spark which began my awareness will begin to exist in a baby after my death, therefore reincarnation. Things change, but the process by which they change remains the same. Heraclitus said you cannot step into the same river twice, but the same process which swept my horse downstream ten minutes ago will now sweep me downstream. Processes arise then cease, then arise again. They recur. My most basic awareness is a recurrence of the most basic awareness of someone from a previous life. I'm not the same thing I was as an infant, so I don't have to be the same thing in this life as I was in a previous life in order for recurrence to occur.
